3.5 Inch 4G LTE Enabled Next Iteration Of iPhone Coming In October Later This Year [Rumor]
According to a recent report from iMore Apple next generation of iPhone would be equipped with 4G LTE and sport a same 3.5 inch display. The report also mentioned that 6th generation of iPhone would hit the market in the same time frame as iPhone 4S did last year which means we can expect it in October 2012. Nothing surprising in this new report except one thing and that one thing is going to be the “one and only” main thing in the 6th generation of iPhone. Yes, I’m talking about the display, yesterday we told you about a preposterous rumors from Reuters that Apple is planning to introduce a 4.6 inch display in 2012 iPhone.
iMore’s Rene Ritchie has some insight from his own sources which relayed following information about 6th generation of iPhone:
• Similar if not same sized screen (currently 3.5-inch but not set in stone)
• 4G LTE radio
• New “micro dock” connector
• Fall/October 2012 release
Yesterday’s report about a larger 4.6 display was wrong in so many way which I also tried to explain yesterday. According to today’s report iPhone 5 aka the new iPhone would carry standard 3.5 inch display. Contrary to today’s report Senior Apple analysts believe that it’s about time that Apple should bump their screen size a little. Another interesting thing which has been discussed in this report is “mini dock” connector, a mini dock connector for upcoming iOS device has been in discussion from quite some time now. There’s no rock solid information available on this new standard of dock connector but it makes a little sense because Apple can squeeze the size to make use of extra space.
4G LTE enabled iPhone 5 is a no brainer, Apple officially jumped in 4G market with their latest 4G LTE enabled iPad 3 which was launched earlier this month. It is more than certain that Apple would introduce a 4G enabled iPhone by the end of this year. Reports about a possible inclusion of Qualcomm’s “MDM9615″ LTE chip in next generation of iPhone which will make it a global phone compatible with almost every 4G network are also surfacing from reliable sources.
The report also notes that Apple would follow the trend they started last year and introduce iPhone 5 in October time frame. Then again, it would be “too soon” to conclude something right now.
We will keep you updated on this, stay tuned!
