Japanese Apple news blog Macotakara posted alleged pictures of 2012 13 inch MacBook Pro’s box leaking specification of the notebook. According to the leaked specification the 13 inch version of 2012 MacBook Pro would carry Intel’s latest Core i5 Ivy Bridge Processor. The leaks also confirms an earlier report about 2012 Macs getting faster USB 3.0 ports. Alleged pictures of 2012 13 inch MacBook Pro spec sheet however debunks the rumors about a possible inclusion of high resolution Retina display.

Anyone can easily come up and say that this picture is a “fake”, but an interesting thing here is that this leaked picture is of MacBook Pro’s box. Such spec sheets are pasted on the back of every MacBook Pro’s box which is currently being shipped. According to the leaked picture this new 2012 MacBook Pro carries a 2.5 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5 Ivy Bridge processor with 3 MB L3 cache. The new 2012 MacBook Pro also features 4 GB of 1600 MHz DDR3 SDRAM, a 500 GB 5400-rpm HDD. The leaked spec picture also shows that the notebook would also carry Intel’s HD Graphics 4000 which comes with Ivy Bridge processors. macbook-pro-2012

Another noticeable thing in this picture is that there’s no sign of “Retina display”. Remember that, it is highly speculated that Apple would introduce Retina display in 2012 Mac lineup.  Purported 2012 MacBook Spec sheets reveals that this notebook would sport a standard 1280×800 pixels widescreen backlit LED. These resolutions are nowhere near Retina display. The size which and weight which is mentioned on the leaked spec sheet (12.78 x 8.94 x 0.95 inches and 4.5 pounds) is also similar to currently available MacBook Pros.

Here’s the complete spec sheet:

It would be too early to comment on the legitimacy of this leaked picture but if it’s true then we can assume that this 13 inch 2012 MacBook Pro would be a low cost entry level MacBook Pro. There’s a possibility that Apple may introduce high end MacBook Pros with rumored high resolution Retina display. Recent reports suggest that Apple is planning to refresh their Mac lineup at WWDC later this month.
