Apple Announces Their 25 Billionth App Download Winner, He Downloaded 'Where's My Water?'
Well this was quicker than we expected or even Apple expected, Apple has just announced their 25 billionth App download winner. Chunli Fu of Qingdao, China has won the one and only $10,00 iTunes Gift Crd prize. Apple issued a press release in which they announced that Fu downloaded 25 billionth App from the App store and guess what? It was a Free App available on App Store. The winner app was Where’s My Water? Free version which made Fu the owner of a fully loaded $10,00 iTunes Gift Card. However, it was not disclosed that how this prize would be given to Fu but it is clear that this prize is not transferable or convertible to cash. In a press release issued earlier today, California based tech giant thanked every customer for participating in this promotion.
“We’d like to thank our customers and developers for helping us achieve this historic milestone of 25 billion apps downloaded,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services. “When we launched the App Store less than four years ago, we never imagined that mobile apps would become the phenomenon they have, or that developers would create such an incredible selection of apps for iOS users.”
Apple started this promotion almost 2 weeks ago and announced that the person who will download or alternatively fill a form which was available on the promotion would be considered as a participant in this promotion. Just 2 days ago Apple announced that App Store has reached the milestone of 25 billion app downloads and the winner of this promotion would be announced soon.
App store is the largest mobile app market place with over 550K apps available for download. The growth of Apple’s store has been incredible in last couple of months, the fruit company reached 25 billion app download milestone in over 3 years and looking at their current statistics and monthly increase in sale of apps we’re certain that it will hit 50 billion download mark in half the time it took to reach 25 billion downloads.
There are more than 315 million iOS devices which download Apps on daily basis and the number are growing exponentially which is remarkable.
We congratulate Chunli Fu of Qingdao, China for winning this huge prize, I’m sure he didn’t think he was to win such an awesome prize for his download.
