Apple Is Patching ICCID Vulnerability In Activation Servers, SAM Unlock May Not Work Now
This was something which was bound to happen, we told you in our previous guide that Apple will patch this ICCID vulnerability. It seems like Apple is doing that right now and SAM unlock method may not work anymore. SAM unlock method was found by user name Lockstar_Sun, he posted a complete guide on how you can unlock you device using this method on a Chinese forum. Thousands of people who were stuck on baseband 4.11.08 unlocked their device using this method but still there are people who didn’t know about this process or simply they couldn’t do it because of errors they got.
MuscleNerd, front man of iPhone-Dev team mentioned in his recent tweets that Apple is patching their activation servers in order to block all activation which are coming through SAM method. But the good news is that if you’ve already unlocked your device via SAM unlock method and saved your unlock activation tickets then you’re all good and you won’t loose your unlock.
Looks like Apple’s currently fixing their activation servers. But the good news is that previous tickets gotten via SAM trick still work.
Now coming to those who’re still trying or haven’t tried this method as yet. Yes, you can still try this unlock procedure by following a complete guide posted here, we cannot confirm whether it’s working on not but there’s a chance that your device will go through activation process, just a chance. If you go through this process successfully then don’t forget to save your unlock activation tickets by following a complete guide posted here. If you’ve already unlocked your device and saved your unlock tickets then for now, we recommend you not to restore or update your iPhone’s iOS because we still don’t know whether Apple is going after all activation made via SAM or not. Just keep using your iPhone normally, don’t play around with activation and deactivation.
Again, it’s not confirmed that you will get your unlock via SAM, it’s a hit or miss situation. But we all know that after Apple would complete their patching process there would be no chance to unlock your iPhone with SAM method. We will keep and eye on this, and once again, DO NOT restore or update your iPhone until further notice.
