Apple To Launch iPad 3 On March 7th, Retina Display, Quad-Core Processor, 4G LTE And Better Cameras
iPad 3 is just around the corner and now we’re officially in “event date prediction phase” of iPad 3′s special launch event. A recent report from iMore claims that Apple is planning to launch their third gen tablet on Wednesday March 7th. This launch date also falls in line with a previous report from AllThingsD which claimed that Apple would announce iPad 3 in first week of March. According to iMore:
According to sources who have been reliable in the past, Apple currently plans to hold theiriPad 3 announcement on Wednesday, March 7, 2012.
The report also claims that Apple would introduce 2048×1536 Retina Display in iPad 3. We’ve already seen leaked pictures of iPad 3 rear shell and iPad 3′s Retina Display and they’re a perfect match which puts more weight on iPad 3′s Sharp-made retina display. iPad 3 would also carry Apple’s latest quad core processor A6 though quad-core processor is still not confirmed but the report says that “it’s happening”. Some leaked pictures of iPad 3 debugging software also confirmed that iPad 3 would carry a faster A6 quad-core processor.
Another interesting thing here is that iPad 3 would also carry 4G LTE chip. Almost every carriers in US has a limited LTE coverage and this technology is near to no where in rest of the world but still according to the report they’re going for it this time.
Better cameras, of course Apple would introduce better cameras in iPad 3. It is still unclear whether Apple would go for a 5 megapixel camera sensor or an 8 megapixel camera senor but yes they will be significantly better than iPad 2.
Technically there’s nothing wrong with the report and many reporters who have golden sources inside Apple have also confirmed that Apple may introduce iPad 3 on Wednesday March 7th. Jim Dalrymple of The Loop has also confirmed this report in his “usual” short confirmation “Yep”.
So folks get ready for an apple event on March 7th.
