'Customer response to the new iPad has been off the charts' Pre-Orders Sold Out
Just 4 days ago California based consumer product giant also the wealthiest company on the planet unveiled their third generation of iPad. Contrary to all last minute rumors and reports from some reliable sources that iPad 3 would be called iPad HD Apple surprised the tech industry by calling 3rd Gen iPad — The new iPad. This was not what people were expecting so the company got a mixed response on this new naming scheme of iPad. Apple started taking pre-orders for the new iPad right after the event ended and the response was huge. Two days ago we reported that the shipment date of the new iPad slipped to March 19th from its original March 16th date. Apple sold out their pre-order stock in just one day after the announcement of their all new iPad.
This is not happening for the first time, last year when iPhone 4S was launched the fruit company sold out in less than 24 hours. More than 1 million iPhone 4S were activated by AT&T in first wee. They’ve done it again and I would personally call it a marketing triumph for Apple. The company officially announced this news in a statement given earlier today in which they said:
“Customer response to the new iPad has been off the charts and the quantity available for pre-order has been purchased,”
“Customers can continue to order online and receive an estimated delivery date.”
The new iPad is set to hit shelves on March 16th but if you’re planning to get one on launch day then you will have to join thousands of other people and wait in line outside Apple retail stores worldwide. Situation is a little more different for European customers in countries like France, Germany, Switzerland, and UK where shipment will take around 2-3 weeks. During the launch event Phill Schiller announced that Apple would start the second roll out in 25 additional countries on March 23rd but looking at this over whelming response from the customers we concur that it would be hard for Apple to meet the shipment dates. This would be the fastest worldwide roll out of any product in the history of Apple Inc.
The new iPad is packed with a 2048×1536 high resolution Retina display, quad-core GPU with all new A5X processor, 5 Megapixel iSight camera and 4G LTE.
My comments, well I’d stick to what Jim Dalrymple of The Loop said:
“So much for the people that said it wouldn’t sell”
We will keep you updated on thins, stay tuned!
