iOS 5.1.1 Untethered Jailbreak For All iOS Devices Released, Download Links

Ladies and gentlemen your wait is over and an untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.1.1 is here. Chronic Dev team has just released Absinthe v2 to jailbreak all iOS devices which are capable of running iOS 5.1.1 untethered. Absinthe v2 was released in Amsterdam at Hack in the Box conference where all renowned hackers from the world are gathered to share information on multiple project of their own. Famous members of jailbreak community like MuscleNerd of iPhone-Dev team, Chronic Dev team, and other jailbreak developers are present their to share information about their work.

Chronic Dev team took the stage and explained their recent work which included infamous iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak which was the first jailbreak for iPhone 4S. Pod2G was the one who discovered a vulnerability in iOS 5.0 and iOS 5.0.1 but Corona 5.0.1 Untether was the result of a huge collaboration between all renowned hacker from the jailbreak community like PlanetBeing, MuscleNerd, P0sixninja, and many other hackers. Just like iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak was very important for iPhone 4S users this jailbreak is very important for iPad 3 aka the new iPad owners because this is very first public (un)tethered jailbreak for iPad 3.

iOS 5.1 was released as a major iOS update along with iPad 3 on March 7th. Pod2G started working on finding exploits to achieve an untethered jailbreak on all iOS devices whereas other hackers including CHPWN, MuscleNerd, and i0n1c demoed their early jailbreaks on iPad 3 immediately after its public launch. Pod2G kept working for weeks but Apple released minor iOS 5.1.1 update which caused a little delay in the process. It was also feared that this jailbreak won’t work on older iOS devices like iPod touch 3G and iPhone 3GS but thanks to PlanetBeing who came up with a brilliant exploit which covered older iOS devices as well.

Absinthe v2 has been released to jailbreak iOS 5.1.1 untethered on all iOS devices which also includes iPad 3 but there’s one device which is still not supported — Apple TV 3 (1080p). The team didn’t mention anything about adding its support but we’re sure that they will find a way to jailbreak it as well.
