How To Fix "No Network" Issue In iPhone 4S [Guide]
“No Network” issue has been around since the launch of iPhone 4S earlier last month. But in order to fix an issue you need to research about it a little and that research took a little time and now we know what is causing this “No Network” issue in new iPhone 4S and we also know how you can fix this issue.
First let me tell you where this problem is actually coming from, it’s a hardware and software issue. In iPhone 4S Apple has introduced a new SIM card reader (iPhone 4 has a different SIM card reader). As you all know that in order to use your iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S you have to get a micro SIM from your carrier or if your carrier is not offering a micro SIM then you have to cut your standard SIM yourself. Now the problem is that most of the micro SIMs are 64K and a regular SIM card is 128K. iPhone 4S is having trouble reading a 64K aka micro-SIM. With a 64K micro SIM iPhone 4S will loose it’s connectivity and display “No Network” very often. Even if it manages to get you connected with your carrier it will loose connectivity randomly.
There are two ways to fix this “No Network ” issue on your iPhone 4S first one is pretty simple, get a 128K SIM card from your carrier if you can and cut it yourself to make it a micro-SIM. It will definitely solve this “No Network” issue in iPhone 4S.
Or if you can’t get a 128K SIM card follow the steps below to fix “No Network” issue in iPhone 4S:
Things you will need during this process:
Step 1: Download iOS 5.0.1 IPSW file from the link above
Step 2: Install iTunes 10.5.1 and run it.
Step 3: Put your iPhone 4S in DFU mode, to enter DFU mode:
- Hold Power and Home buttons for 10 seconds
- Now release the Power button but continue holding the Home button for 10 more seconds
- You device should now be in DFU mode (black screen)
Step 4: iTunes will detect your iPhone 4S in DFU and will prompt your to restore, DO NOT press update button.
Step 5: Hold SHIFT (Windows) or OPTION (Mac) key and click Restore, browse iOS 5.0.1 IPSW you downloaded from link above and restore it.
Step 6: Set up your iPhone 4S as a new device.
Step 7: Go to Settings > Phone > SIM PIN and turn it OFF
Step 8: Turn On airplane mode and wait 15 seconds then turn it off
Step 9: Go to Settings > Carrier > Automatic ( turn it off and select your network manually )
This should solve your “No Network” issue which you’re getting on your iPhone 4S right now, do let us know if it worked for you or not. We love feedback.
We will keep you updated on this, stay tuned!
