How to Download and Install Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread on Nexus S!
Google officially announced the OTA update for Nexus S earlier this week . The update is aimed to bring more NFC related features along with random reboot fix for Nexus S and several other bug fixes and other software performance update & stability enhancements.
But if you cannot hold your horses and wait for OTA update, heres how to update your Nexus S manually.
Step 1: Get the Android 2.3.3 update .zip file (Download link below)
Step 2: Rename it to update.zip
Step 3: Copy it to the root of your micro-sd card
Step 4: Boot your device in recovery mode by holding the trackball and pressing once on the power button
Step 5: Select Bootloader and then select Recovery
Step 6: Let the device reboot (wide display an exclamation point) and then press the volume up and power button at the same time
Step 7: Finally select “Apply sdcard:update.zip” with the trackball.
Step 8: Enjoy Gingerbread on your Nexus S.
You may have to soft reset a couple of times after this.
