passcode-266x400

Forgot your iPhone restriction passcode? No no, you’re not getting an option to click “Forgot Password” link over here. Believe it or not it’s easier than that, and good thing is that there’s no need to restore your iPhone as a new device using iTunes.

Here’s how you can do it:

Things you will need during this process:

  • Mac OS X
  • iPhone Backup Extractor for Mac OS X (Download link below)
  • 5 Minutes

Step 1: Download and extract “iPhone Backup Extractor”.

Step 2: Run it and click ‘Read Backups’, now you will see a list of back-ups you’ve made previously.

Step 3: Select the back-up from which you want to recover the password from

Step 4: You’ll see a list of apps in that back-up file, look up for  “iOS File” (most probably it will be at the end) extract it on your Desktop (for easy access).

Step 5: Once completed, open the folder it created called ‘iOS Files’. Look for the file named ‘com.apple.springboard.plist’, and open it up.

Step 6: Scroll through the list of keys, you should see a key titled ‘SBParentalControlsPin’ and to the right of it a value, and that’s your passcode.

Enjoy!!
