i0n1c Working On iOS 5 Untethered Jailbreak, Won't Support Pirated Apps ?

After Comex’s teaser about a possible iPad 2 jailbreak or exploit he found a heated discussion started on Twitter. Stefan Esser aka i0n1c received a lot of “hate tweets” regarding his work on iPad 2 jailbreak, but after that he tweeted something really interesting. He said he will work on an untethered iOS 5.0 jailbreak which won’t support pirated apps.

It’s the first time that any iPhone hacker has mentioned anything preventing piracy which is rather a good sign because companies like Apple and Sony are off the view that hackers are promoting piracy. i0n1c is famous in jailbreaking community because of his untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.1 which remained unpatched till iOS 5, Apple patched his exploit in iOS 5.o b1. It is also rumored that i0n1c is also working on an iPad 2 jailbreak codename elevat0r. iOS 5 jailbreak has already been released in the form of redsn0w 0.9.8b1 by iPhone-Dev team but for now it’s tethered which mean you’ll have to boot in tethered mode every time you restart your iOS device.

There’s no ETA or development progress but i believe it can take a lot of time to work on an exploit and releasing iOS 5 untethered jailbreak.
