iOS 4.3.4 Will Patch JailbreakMe 3.0 Vulnerability, Release Imminent [Confirmed]
When JailbreakMe 3.0 was leaked earlier last week it was highly speculated that Apple will release an iOS 4.3.4 update to fix that PDF exploit found by Comex. JailbreakMe 3.0 was the most awaited Jailbreak ever and it was officially released yesterday. More than 500,000 devices have been jailbroken since the release and the number is still growing.
Apple is aware of the bug and as reported earlier it’s an easy fix for Apple, now the company has confirmed that they’ll be release an iOS 4.3.4 update to patch iPad 2 Jailbreak exploit. Apple Inc. spokeswoman Bethan Lloyd said:
“aware of this reported issue and developing a fix that will be available to customers in an upcoming software update.”
Comex, the developer behind JailbreakMe 3.0 also released a patch to fix the exploit he used to jailbreak iPad 2. If you’re thinking why he patched the exploit he found himself, well that exploit now out in the hands of many hacker can be used to inject malicious code. So it is highly recommended to patch the vulnerability as soon as you jailbreak your iDevice using JailbreakMe 3.0.
iOs 4.3.4 update is expected to hit your devices in next couple of days, so beware and do not upgrade your devices to iOS 4.3.4 if you want to keep your Jailbreak specially iPad 2 owners. Remember all iOS device can be jailbroken with limera1n exploit expect iPad 2. So iPad 2 owners should keep their eyes on iOS 4.3.4 and STAY AWAY from it. And also save your SHSH blobs for iOS 4.3.3, otherwise you won’t be able to downgrade your iOS devices from iOS 4.3.4.
