Why iOS 5.0.2 Or iOS 5.1 Update Is Necessary For Your iPhone, iPod Touch And iPad ?

I won’t disagree with all the fancy reviews iOS 5 got but i had a problem from day 1 and now as the time has passed a lot of other iOS 5 users are experiencing the same problem. In case you’re wondering what that problem is it’s bug and not just one or two but loads of them.

Soon after it’s release on October 12th a lot of people started complaining about battery issues and this problem was also found in Apple’s all new iPhone 4S. Even I found a lot of bugs in iOS 5 including the battery drainage issue aka “batterygate”. Battery drainage issue was not limited to iPhone 4S only it was also experienced by iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS users. And unfortunately this was not the only bug, i used iOS 5 on iPad to find any bugs and jotted down a list of known and some unknown issues which i came across.

Here’s the list of issues I found:

Battery Drainage Issue:

Most of you must have heard about this one by now, iOS 5 drains your iPhone’s battery more quickly. Battery drainage issue is worse for iPhone 4S users because of some Siri features, even after turning those features off your iPhone 4S won’t give you promised battery time.

Push Notifications (Mail):

There’s also a problem with iOS 5′s Mail push notifications, you won’t be notified when ever you get an email. You have to go into mail app and check your emails. This works fine if you restart your device but once you check your mail and kill the app you won’t get Mail push notifications.

Severe App Crashing:

I’ve used almost all versions of iOS but i’ve experienced more “app crashes in iOS 5″ than any other version of iOS and this needs some serious attention. This bug common in iPad but some users are also experiencing it on iPhones.

Now this is a freaky one and happens more often in iPhone 4S, your music volume and keyboard’s button click automatically gets loud. And believe me it’s really annoying, specially when you’re sitting in a quite environment.

iTunes WiFi Sync:

Apple introduced this brilliant feature in iOS 5 which allows you to sync your iOS device over WiFi. But the problem begins when you turn on this feature, your iTunes will never go away even if you don’ want to use it it will pop up and sync your device.

After a huge pile of complains regarding iPhone 4S’ battery drainage issues and other aforementioned bugs Apple did what any other company would’ve done, started to investigate the issue and released iOS 5.0.1 update. Apple thought that iOS 5.0.1 will fix most of the bugs which were discovered in iOS 5 but that didn’t happen. Surprisingly no bugs were fixed in iOS 5.0.1 and for jailbreakers iOS 5.0.1 proved as a nightmare.

iOS 5.0.2 Or iOS 5.1 Expectations:

According to sources Apple is planning to release iOS 5.0.2 or 5.1 for iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 3G, iPod Touch 4G, iPad 1 and 2. This update will definitely fix battery drainage issues with iPhone 4S and other iOS devices which are currently running iOS 5 or iOS 5.0.1. We can expect this update in next week or so but we cannot confirm whether Apple is going to fix issues other than battery drainage.

We will keep you updated on this, stay tuned!
