iPad 3 WiFi Issues Being Investigated By Apple, Get Your Faulty iPad 3 WiFi Only Model Replaced
According to a leaked internal Apple care document which was acquired by 9to5Mac through their reliable source indicates that Apple is taking iPad 3′s WiFi connectivity issues seriously. The new iPad aka iPad 3 had some issues with WiFi connectivity and we told you about it couple of weeks ago. The news started off from a thread on Apple’s Support Community in which thousands of iPad 3 users complained about faulty WiFi in iPad 3. Later on, some people narrowed down this problem and concluded that iPad 3′s WiFi only model were facing WiFi connectivity issues while 4G+WiFi version worked pretty well for everyone.
Here are some issues which were reported on Apple’s Support Community:
I am in a hotel with my laptop and new ipad3. The laptop wifi reception is as strong as it gets, but the iPad only registers a weak signal. Anyone else having similar problems? Any suggestions?
It has absolutely nothing to do with routers. I am right next to my wife, to whom I gave my iPad 1: she has full bars and I have 1-2. FYI: on Speedtest near the router I get over 10 mb downloads; 20 feet away I get .2 mb downloads. That’s ridiculous.
Same problem; same issue. Mine with University’s wifi or my home wifi (Airport Express). Original iPad maintains a strong connection right next to new iPad, which doesn’t.
WiFi connectivity is not the only issue which iPad 3 is getting thrashed for, Consumer Reports went all predator on iPad 3 and published some results which indicated that iPad 3 runs “hotter” than iPad 2. Though the problem wasn’t that serious but Consumer Reports article depicted it in such a way that it felt like iPad 3 would burn someone’s hand. But Consumer Reports debunked their own report and called iPad 3 as the best tablet available in market.
Coming back to WiFi, according to this leaked document Apple’s ordered their Apple Care folks to “Capture” these iPads. According to 9to5Mac “capture” is a serious code for Apple products, simply put Apple wants those products back in their headquarters for further testing.
According to one source, “Captured” is code for the device to be immediately packed up and shipped to Apple’s engineering centers for examination and investigation.
If you have a faulty WiFi only version of iPad 3 you can simply go to your nearest Apple store and get it replaced.
