No Order Cutbacks From Apple, Says Apple's Battery Suppliers
Apple suppliers have denied recent speculations that the company is cutting back notebook orders because of low demand. It was speculated among investors that Cupertino, Calif. based tech giant Apple is cutting their notebook orders due to significant drop in demand. The company is planning to refresh their Mac lineup next month and people who were planning to purchase current generation of Macs are now waiting for the lineup to get a refresh.
In a response to these speculation, chairman of Simplo Technology,Sung Fu-hsiang said that “the firm hasn’t received any word of an order cutback from Apple.” Simplo Technology is one of the leading Apple suppliers for notebook batteries. “We maintain our forecast for the second quarter,” he added, FU-hsiang was also positive about his firm’s growth in Q2. He also mentioned that the company is expecting a 15-20 percent growth in Q2 compared to last 3 months.
Dynapack Corp., also Apple’s supplier for batteries also confirmed that the firm is producing batteries on “full capacity” and their no word from Apple on cutting back orders. “Everything looks normal at this point. We don’t see any changes in the short-term,”.
We also noticed shortage of 15 and 17 inch version of MacBook Pros on several online US retailers including Best Buy, Amazon and J&R. Supply constraints are usual before a product refresh.
Apple is planning to refresh their Mac line next month at WWDC 2012. 2012 MacBook Pros and iMac will be powered by Intel’s latest Core i5 and Core i7 Ivy Bridge processors. Recent reports also suggest that Apple is introducing USB 3.0 and Retina display in all Macs. It is still unconfirmed whether Apple is permanently killing Ethernet port and optical drive in all Macs or not.
