Open Siri From Your iPhone's Notification Center With SiriLaunch [Cydia Tweak]

sirilaunch

We’ve seen a significant increase in Notification Center tweaks in past couple of weeks, some of them are really good and rest were easy to pass. From amazing tweaks like IntelliScreenX and SBSettings to Notification Center Torch toggle every tweak has it’s own importance and since Notification Center is “next big thing” for developers and they’ve shifted their focus to make Notification Center more useful with small tweaks.  Today we have another tweak to add in Notification Center tweak list, this tweak is a combination of two major features we’ve seen in past 4-5 months, Siri and Notification Center.

SiriLaunch is a Cydia tweak which allows you to open Siri straight from your Notification Center. The first thought which comes in everybody’s mind is that why would you drag your Notification Center down and launch Siri when you can simply launch it from home screen by pressing home button. The problem is not with the tweak but the home button, if you use your iPhone or any other iOS device excessively then there is a great chance that your home button would start messing up and skipping commands. Siri can only be invoked through home button so there’s a great chance that your home button would start the same thing but a tweak like SiriLaunch can save you some bucks.

Once installed, SiriLaunch will add a small button on the bottom right side of your notification center, pressing that button will invoke Siri from your Notification Center. The benefits are very long term, a tweak like this may not save your time but there are two advantages  1) it gives you an alternate way of invoking Siri 2) as I mentioned above it save your home button from wearing out.

SiriLaunch is a free tweak which gives you another reason to try this out. SiriLaunch is available for download in Cydia App Store under BigBoss’ repo.

In order to download SiriLaunch you will of course need a jailbroken iOS device running iOS 5, if don’t have a jailbroken iOS device you can follow our complete step by step guides to jailbreak your iPad 1, iPhone 4, 3GS and iPod touch 4G untethered using redsn0w 0.9.10b4Corona 5.0.1 Untether and Snowbreeze 2.9. If you have an iPad 2 or iPhone 4S running iOS 5.0.1 you can jailbreak it untethered using Absinthe for Windows or Mac and CInject.
