Almost everyone of you must be enjoying your untethered jailbreak on iOS 5.0.1 but there are some people with older iOS devices who are facing a lot of issue while jailbreaking. iPhone-Dev team has released an updated version of their redsn0w jailbreaking tool. Redsn0w 0.9.10b5c will bring a lot bug fixes for older devices like iPod touch 2G and iPhone 3G. The announcement was made on iPhone-Dev team’s blog along with release notes.

Updates #5b and #5c:  Version b5b fixes an issue with using custom ramdisks on iPhone3G and iPod2G, and version b5c prevents redsn0w from crashing due to the ever-growing ramdisk size :) .
TIP: If auto-detection fails and redsn0w tells you no identifying data was found, you can always pre-select theappropriate 5.0.1 IPSW using “Extras->Select IPSW”.

This is not a major update so if you already have a jailbroken iOS device you don’t need to re-jailbreak it. This update only for people who facing crashes during redsn0w run because of the ramdisk. Another thing which you will notice in this version of redsn0w is that redsn0w 0.9.10b5c weighs 10MB more than its usual size. We’re not sure ehat more changes have been made in this version version. Redsn0w was recently updated with Pod2G’s Corona untether for 5.0.1 for an untethered jailbreak of iOS 5.0.1 on all non A5 devices.
