How To Jailbreak Your Non A5/A5X Devices Who Already Have iOS 5.1.1 Tethered Jailbreak [Guide]
By this time almost everyone in the jailbreak community knows that iOS 5.1.1′s untethered jailbreak in the form of Absinthe v2.0 is out. We have already posted a detailed guide on how you can jailbreak your iPhone 4S, iPad 3 and all other iOS devices running iSO 5.1.1 untehered with Absinthe V2.0. But there are some people (tinkerers) who were already running iOS 5.1.1 with a tethered jailbreak on their non A5/A5X devices, what about them? Well, just like Corona 5.0.1 Untether, Chronic Dev team has also released a Cydia package for people who are already running iOS 5.1.1 with a tethered jailbreak on their iPhone 4, iPod touch 4G, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 3G and iPad 1.
This time, Chronic Dev team has named their jailbreak as “Rocky Racoon”, this untethered jailbreak package is available in Cydia app store right now. So let’s go through the process once again, shall we.
Things To Remember:
- This untetherd jailbreak won’t work on any iOS version other than iOS 5.1.1
- You should have a tethered jailbreak on iOS 5.1.1 in order to proceed.
How To Jailbreak iOS 5.1.1 Untethered With Rocky Racoon 5.1.1 Untether:
Step 1: Connect your iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 3G, iPod touch 4G or iPad 1 to computer and make a back up of your data (recommended)
Step 2: Launch Cydia from your home screen and wait for it complete it’s refresh process
Step 3: Once refresh process is complete, tap on Search button which is located on the bottom right corner.
Step 4: Type Rocky Racoon 5.1.1 untether, you will see a package tap on it.
Step 5: Click on Intsall and then Confirm, Rocky Racoon will start the untethered jailbreak process on your iOS device.
Your iOS device will reboot after the process is complete!
