Siri Got Ported To iPod Touch 4G With iPhone 4S Backup

Siri

Developers have been trying hard to port Siri to older iOS devices, some of them have successfully ported Siri to older iOS devices. The process was so complex that many developer spent weeks porting Siri to their older device but it seems like someone ported it without any technical hurdle or iOS hacking mambo jumbo.

A boy named AppleGordon claims that he got Siri (GUI only) on his newly bought iPod Touch 4G by restoring iPhone 4S back-up. Yes, you read it right; just by restoring his iPhone 4S backup to his iPod touch 4G. According to him, no tweaks were involved during this process. Here’s how it all happened, AppleGordon bought a new iPod Touch 4G and restored his iPhone 4S’ backup from iCloud instead of setting his iPod Touch as a new device. After back-up restoration he noticed that Siri GUI was working perfectly fine on his iPod Touch 4G. Yes, that’s weird because all other developers were banging their heads on wall in order to port Siri on iPhone 4 and other iOS devices. They found a way after weeks of research to port Siri GUI only on iPhone 4, iPod touch 4G and iPhone 3GS.

Of course Siri is not completely functional on his iPod Touch 4G because he gets the same connectivity error whenever he tries to give it a command. But Siri’s dictation feature is working “flawlessly” on his iPod Touch 4G.

We’ve seen numerous fake and legit working Siri ports on iPhone 4 and other older iOS devices but you have to install a tweak or a Cydia package in order to get Siri on your older iOS device. Nothing was as easy as this boy is reporting.

Here’s a video of AppleGordon’s iPod Touch 4G kicking Siri GUI:

I still have my doubts regarding this strange accidental port of Siri to iPod Touch 4G so I will recommend you guys not to try this with your iOS devices because it can harm your iOS devices.

As far as Siri port is concerned there’s no noticeable progress on the port. CHPWN has released Spire which is a 100% legal Siri port for older iOS devices but the catch is that you still need an iPhone 4S to make it work because Spire needs a Siri proxy server which will only work when you have an iPhone 4S.

Again, DO NOT try this with your iOS devices.

We will, keep you update on this, stay tuned!
