Market reports and rumors are getting stronger day by day regarding Apple’s take on TV industry. Supply chain sources from Far East Asia are now reporting that Apple TV or better call it iTV parts production will start from first quarter of 2012.

iTV parts production would be on full swing during first quarter in order meet Apple’s launch deadline in second or probably third quarter on 2012. Apple iTV is in rumors from past one year, sources are also reporting that this time Apple would launch a complete iOS powered Apple TV with display.

According to sources:

Instead of a form of set-top box (STB) like the Apple TV launched in 2006, Apple’s new products will be full TV sets, the sources added.

Sources also suggest that Apple started preparing for their upcoming iTV launch in collaboration with Korean Samsung Electronics. Samsung Electronics and Apple started manufacturing chips for Apple iTV in November 2011. A major concern here would be the display which Apple is going to use in Apple iTV, it is highly likely that Apple would use Sharp’s display technology for iTV.

Industry sources are pointing towards two possible screen sizes for iTV, 32-inches and 37-inches.

The displays of the new iTV sets will focus on 32- and 37-inch sizes initially, noted sources in the supply chain.

We believe that there would be a lot of other options to choose from even if they introduce two screen sizes. We can have option to choose from different storage spaces etc etc.

This report also suggests that Apple would release their iTV at the end of second quarter or in third quarter. Another important question rises regarding future of Apple’s current TV offering in STB form factor. Sources suggest that Apple will continue to produce their STB type of Apple TVs which were first introduced in 2006. Apple has plans to release 3rd gen STB type Apple TV with a lot more features, however Apple’s 3rd gen Apple TV would cost much less than current gen STB Apple TV. We’ve already seen references of Apple’s upcoming 3rd gen Apple STB TV in iOS 5.1 beta and iOS 5.1 beta 2 source code.
