If you’re an unlocker and you’ve been waiting for software unlock update then today is your day because iPhone-Dev team has just released an updated version of Ultrasn0w (v 1.2.7) software unlock for iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 running iOS 5.1.1. Though an Ultrasn0w fixer for iOS 5.1.1 was released by independent developer but some people are not accustomed to use ultrasn0w fixers so this should do the job for them. It is important to note here that Ultrasn0w 1.2.7 is just a compatibility update and it won’t unlock new basebands, this version would ONLY unlock those basebands which were supported but Ultrasn0w 1.2.5.

Ultrasn0w 1.2.7 Supported Basebands List:

  • 01.59.00 (iPhone 4)
  • 04.26.08
  • 05.11.07
  • 05.13.01
  • 05.12.01
  • 06.15.00 (iPad BB patched on iPhone 3GS)

Remember that this unlock solution won’t work on iPhone 4S or iPhone 4 baseband 4.11.08 or 4.12.01.

Important: If you rely on unlock then it is highly recommended that you update you iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS to iOS 5.1.1 by preserving your baseband. You can preserve your baseband and update to iOS 5.1.1 by creating a custom IPSW file with Sn0wbreeze, Redsn0w or PwnageTool. If you update your iPhone 4 with a stock IPSW file it WILL update your baseband and you will loose your unlock.

iPhone-Dev team has already released an untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.1.1 which works on almost every iOS device. If you don’t have a jailbroken iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS running iOS 5.1.1 you can follow our complete guide posted here to jailbreak them using Absinthe v2.0.
