Unlock iPhone 4 And iPhone 3GS on iOS 5.0.1 With Ultrasn0w 1.2.5 [Guide]
iPhone-Dev team has just released updated Ultrasn0w 1.2.5 to unlock iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS on iOS 5.0.1. Remember that Ultrasn0w 1.2.4 didn’t support iOS 5.0.1 even for unlockable basebands. This is not a new unlock, ultrasn0w 1.2.5 will unlock already supported basebands only. A lot of people were waiting for this iOS 5.0.1 unlock because they updated their iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS to iOS 5.0.1 even though their basebands were unlockable but ultrasn0w was not updated to support iOS 5.0.1 yet. As Apple stopped signing iOS 5.0 and SHSH blobs were not useful at that time, people got stuck on iOS 5.0.1 and the only option the had was to downgrade their iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS to iOS 4.3.3 for an untethered jailbreak and ultrasn0w unlock.
Some developer also released Ultrasn0w fixers for iOS 5.0.1 unlock support but nothing worked quite well. iPhone 3GS owners on the other hand were a little lucky because they were able to manually patch ultrasn0w 1.2.4 on iOS 5.0.1 to unlock their iPhone 3GS with baseband 6.15.00. Ultrasn0w can only unlock one baseband on iPhone 4 which is 1.59.00. All other iPhone basebands are unlocked using hardware unlock like Gevey SIM.

Note: This is not a new unlock it’s just a compatibility update for iOS 5.0.1, no new basebands are supported by Ultrasn0w 1.2.5
Important: iPhone 3GS users with old-bootrom please jailbreak your iPhone with redsn0w 9.9.9b9d before unlocking with ultrasn0w 1.2.5.
How To Unlock iPhone 4,3G,3GS Using Ultrasn0w 1.2.5:
Step 1: Open up Cydia, tap on “Manage” tab at the bottom and finally tap on “Sources”
Step 2: Tap on “Edit” and then on “Add”. You will be prompted to enter a url source as seen in the screenshot below. Type “http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com” and touch on“Add Source” to add this repo if you haven’t already.
Step 3: Cydia will now automatically update your sources by following a series of automated steps. After installation search for “ultrasn0w” in Cydia and install this application.
You iPhone will reboot after ultrasn0w 1.2.5 installation.
This app will automatically unlock your iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS so that you can use it with any carrier.
