Why H1Siri Port Is Dangerous And A Major Security Disaster
H1Siri port was released earlier this week which gave older iOS device owner the privilege to use iPhone 4S exclusive personal voice assistant Siri on their devices. We know that most of iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS owners want try this new and really smart feature on their older iOS devices. Many iOS hackers have already ported it on their iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and even iPod Touch 4Gs.
H1Siri port works in collaboration with SiriProxy Server and allows you to bypass Apple’s hardware check. But the question here is not about “GETTING” Siri on your iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 4G it’s about whether it’s safe to get it or not. We at HowToArena have tested this H1Siri private port personally to look for some major flaws and security bugs and we found many.
First and the most noticeable flaw is that H1Siri port won’t work for you all the time, during our testing we got connectivity errors most of time because of massive overload on SiriProxy’s local server which is being handled by the developer of this tweak. Secondly H1Siri port uses Apple’s copyrighted code during it’s run which makes it illegal right away. Now let’s come to the biggie, as this is a private SiriProxy port your iPhone’s personal data like your SMS details, Contacts and Calendar details will flow through developer’s server which is a privacy disaster. Not only this is horrifying but it can also be used in so many mischievous ways which you can’t even imagine.

Public Siri ports like H1Siri can go behind your back send SMS without even notifying you and this is just one flaw it can do many other tasks without your permission. A lot of famous iOS developers including Chronic and CHPWN have warned people not to use this port because it’s illegal and harmful. This is not the end of story, H1Siri port can also damage your current build of iOS firmware which you’re running right now, a lot of users have reported that their devices got stuck on Apple boot logo, Camera App crashes and many other minor bugs after installing H1Siri which can’t be fixed without a software restore.
Bottom line is that “DO NOT USE H1SIRI PORT” on any of your iOS devices. It will give you more trouble then “working Siri”. Apple has no plans to introduce Siri officially on older iOS devices and developer can’t release because of some major concerns which we explained here.
